MMYD ANNOUNCE NEW DESIGN FOR WINDY

MMYD are delighted to announce their commission for the design of the WINDY SLR 60.
This 60-foot superyacht chaseboat has been designed for long distance excursions and operation as a nimble sports boat for diving and fishing, as well as support shoreside exploration.
Following delivery of this first SLR 60, Windy Scandinavia AB will put the design into production at the Windy yard in Sweden, making it the largest Windy available and establishing the 60-footer as the company’s flagship.
A rigorous testing procedure to assess the boat’s performance in varying sea states has been conducted. The sea trials confirmed that the SLR 60 is extremely capable in all conditions, with a generous flare to the bow and multiple chines on the hull keeping the boat as dry as possible.

Liara is the first Malcolm McKeon-designed yacht to be built by the Finnish yard, we're delighted to see her launched on schedule, ready for her mast to be stepped and then sea trialled.
MM597 TO COMMENCE BUILD AT ROYAL HUISMAN

MM597 is to commence build at the Royal Huisman Shipyard.
This 59.7m performance sloop will harness exceptional sail power and be extraordinarily advanced, radically pushing the boundaries of operating systems and integrated rig technologies to set new benchmarks for performance and efficiency.
MM597 will benefit from naval architecture and exterior design by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design; interior architecture by French design house Liaigre; an integrated rig package from Southern Spars complimented by Rondal captive winches; and in-house engineering and build by Royal Huisman.

RIBELLE WINS AT WORLD SUPERYACHT AWARDS

32.5m RIBELLE has won Best Sailing Yacht in the 30m - 49m size category at the World Superyacht Awards, presented by Boat International.
These awards recognise the remarkable ingenuity and innovation demanded by the design, engineering and construction of the world’s finest superyachts.
Ribelle was designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, built by Vitters Shipyard and features an interior by Remi Tessier.

Missy wins her class at the St Barths Bucket!
Participating in her first regatta, Missy gave a consistently strong performance across all three races.

There was close competition between the yachts in the Supermaxi Class all week, but Ribelle’s win on day four of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup secured her the regatta title, with one race still to run.
Ribelle’s owners and YCCS members, Paola and Salvatore Trifirò, commented:

Now under construction at Baltic Yachts, MM341 was designed for an experienced owner with worldwide cruising and the occasional foray onto the racecourse in mind.
At 34m length overall, the interior arrangement has four guest cabins as well as crew accommodation for five.

Weight saving, achieved through her advanced carbon composite construction using foam and Nomex cores, was an important part of the design process. Her generous sail plan featuring a square top mainsail, deep draft, telescopic lifting keel and high righting moment configuration, will combine to produce a lively performance from this highly-tuned cruising yacht when she competes in regattas.
RIBELLE EXCELS IN FIRST REGATTA

The recently launched 32.5m Ribelle finished the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in second place, much to the delight of her owners and the team involved.
She gave an impressive performance throughout the week, taking 1st in Class day one, followed by a 2nd on day two, then a 4th and 5th.
MM35 BLACKCAT - 35m DESGIN UNVEILED

BlackCat have announced the latest addition to their portfolio of luxury superyacht catamarans. This 35m design is the second from the BlackCat range and continues in the same distinctive lines and styling created by the Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design studio.
The carbon fibre catamaran will have a beam of 14m and provide accommodation for up to eight guests and four crew. Performance predictions indicate a cruising speed of 20knots with a max of 32knots.
Interior and deck spaces can be customised to suit client’s wishes.

Following delivery to her owner, the team from MMYD visited Missy in Palma to spend a few days aboard, putting her sailing prowess to the test.

The first superyacht from the drawing boards of Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design has been launched.
33m "Missy" was built by Green Marine and Vitters Shipyard and today, took to the water for the first time. Missy will be delivered to her owner later this summer.

We are delighted to announce that the MMYD studio has had a contract signed for the design of a 33m superyacht.
The design is for a performance-orientated family cruiser, to be built in carbon composite. The yacht will have accommodation for eight guests across four cabins and be run with four crew.
